Katie Lambie entered this year’s Manx Telecom Parish Walk to raise money for Bowel Cancer IOM as her father was diagnosed with bowel cancer earlier in the year following on from 25 years of inflammatory bowel disease.
Before the event Katie said, “I am hoping to get to Peel as I am only 20 years old and you have to be over 21 to go further. Up to now, I have been training regularly and have done 16 miles in one session in preparation for the event. I hope that the money I am able to raise will not only help a very well deserving charity but also raise awareness for bowel cancer.”
Update: Katie joined us at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show to present us with a cheque for £500 raised from Parish Walk sponsorship. We really appreciate her support and are grateful to her for not only walking to Peel but also helping out in the marquee at the show. Thank you Katie, you’re a star! x
