Bowel Cancer Awareness Weekend
April 24-25th 2010
To celebrate our first anniversary and Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, Bowel Cancer Isle of Man brought over a giant inflatable colon for members of the public to explore on 24/25 April 2010. The Bowel Cancer Awareness Weekend was launched by the Mayor of Douglas Michael Gelling and raised more than £1000 for Bowel Cancer Isle of Man. The 11 metre walk-through colon was kindly hosted by the Strand Shopping Centre.
Later that week the Mayor held a reception in the Town Hall for Bowel Cancer Isle of Man at which a cheque for £1054.39 was presented.
On the Sunday the Hon David Anderson MHK, Minister for Health (standing right), and Dudley Butt MLC, Member for Health visited the display. They are seen here with Bowel Cancer Isle of Man Chairman Heather Norman (right).
